2. 11 Charged in Public Assistance Fraud

Two Five Towns men are one of 11 people facing up to 15 years in prison after police say they stole over $400,000 in public assistance benefits, according to Nassau County District Attorney Kathleen Rice's office.

A driver who was apparently cut off lost control of her vehicle last Friday and struck the third rail of the LIRR tracks at West Broadway in Hewlett, according to a witness.
