5. Pics: Hewlett Homecoming 2012

 Hewlett High School students celebrated homecoming starting last Friday with a pep rally followed by a parade on Saturday before the Bulldogs' first game against Plainedge.

4. Weisenberg Alleges Abuse of His Son

 Assemblyman Harvey Weisenberg, D-Long Beach, is accusing a Brookville-based agency serving the special needs community with abusing his son at its residence in Plainview.


 Two businesses  — Emperor's Old Clothes and Xaga Sushi — reopened in new locations, while Red Mango opens up shop in Hewlett.

2. Two People Mugged on Wanser Avenue in Inwood

 A man and a teenager were mugged last Wednesday by an armed robber on Wanser Avenue in Inwood, police said.


A Nassau County police officer was hospitalized Tuesday after being hit by a car on the 878 just north of the Atlantic Beach Bridge.
