Crime was up slightly in the 112th Precinct this past week, but the number of incidents was down for 2013. Ann Taylor on Austin Street will close during the first few days of January, an employee said.


A Mexican eatery known as El Coyote will replace Garcia’s Mexican Café on Austin Street this spring.


Former U.S. Rep. Bob Turner moved back into his Breezy Point home, which was heavily damaged by a fire caused by Hurricane Sandy in October 2012.


The new 7-Eleven chain store has opened on Queens Boulevard next door to Red Mango.
