5 Things: Brunch, Light in Winter and a Greenmarket

Fort Greene and Clinton Hill-area information and events you won't want to miss.

5 Things: Brunch, Light in Winter and a Greenmarket

1. Head to brunch. Prospect will now be serving brunch every Sunday from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. The menu, which offers a selection of seafood, meat and pasta entrees, features carefully-selected ingredients and products from local farmers and artisans who use sustainable practices.

2. Venture outside. This Sunday, the Brooklyn Botanic Garden invites visitors to participate in a host of daytime activities for all ages as part of its Light in Winter series. A bird walk, guided tour, winter yoga, discovery workshop and garden shop tasting are all on the docket this weekend.

3. Load up on healthy goodies. Head to the Fort Greene Greenmarket this weekend to make good on your New Year's resolution to eat healthy. From 8 a.m.-4 p.m., fresh seafood, cheese, orchard fruit, baked goods, a variety of sustainably raised meat, and dairy products are available as well as cut flowers.

4. Find out if your train is running. There are some planned services changes to local lines; Coney Island-bound Q trains run express between Prospect Park and Sheepshead Bay between 9:45 a.m. and 3 p.m. every Wed-Fri. until Feb. Also, Manhattan-bound Q trains will run through the tunnel to Manhattan between midnight and 5 a.m. all week, according to the  MTA

5. Move the car. Sorry folks, alternate side won't be suspended again until Monday, Jan. 21 for MLK day, according to the  NYCDOT
