The Garden City board of trustees granted final site plan approval to Calagero's owner Ron DiGangi Thursday, allowing the restaurant's expansion into 923 Franklin Avenue, former home of Garden City Galleries.
DiGangi confirmed for Patch his intended plans back in January. On Thursday, with his architect also present, he thanked trustees for their unanimous approval.
In April, the Planning Commission required DiGangi to redesign his plans to include additional parking for customers.
Trustees voted 7-0 (trustee Andrew Cavanaugh was absent) in favor of the final site plan; construction is expected to begin shortly.
