Item of the Week From The A.T. Stewart Exchange: Jewelry Chest
A solid-wood jewelry chest with hand-painted blue flowers is in the spotlight this week.
The staff of The A.T. Stewart Exchange extends our concern to all who have been seriously impacted by Hurricane Sandy. Many have not only endured loss of electric, but have, also, experienced catastrophic loss of property. We're appreciative of all the help we've received to restore our services and the efforts to get people the help and services they need. Our shop has no phone service, but we have reopened, and we are committed to helping with Long Island's recovery. If we can be of assistance, please come in and recharge your electronics and/or yourself with a cup of coffee.
This week's feature is a lovely jewelry chest. This solid-wood piece is a creamy-beige color with hand-painted blue flowers. It stands 14"W x 10"D x 40"H and has seven drawers, two side cabinets that offer necklace storage, and a top that opens with an inlaid mirror for personal grooming. When the top is up, there is another compartment for more storage. The item is priced at $80 and is available at the time of posting.
The A.T. Stewart Exchange (consignment shop), located on the lower level of The Garden City Historical Society, offers unique items for sale and is run by volunteers.
