Stewart Manor LIRR Station House Closed for Renovations

Trains still running on schedule, but riders will have to use a temporary waiting room.

The Stewart Manor Railroad Station building is closed until next fall as the LIRR works on improvements to the building.

The station will still be in operation and trains running on a normal schedule, but the station building will be inaccessible to riders starting this week. The LIRR is bringing in a trailer to act as a temporary waiting room while the construction is under way. Ticket machines will not be moved.

The improvements to the building include:

The station building improvement project includes:

  • New windows, doors, walls, benches and ceiling
  • New LED lighting, air conditioning and security cameras
  • Complete rehabilitation of the underpass
  • Rehabilitation of the station building exterior
  • New accessible restroom and waiting area
  • New station signage

The work is scheduled to be completed in Fall 2017.
