Police ID Body Found In Glen Cove Creek

UPDATED Wednesday at 7:42 p.m.: Police have identified the man found floating in Glen Cove waters on Monday night as 61-year-old Jose Demas Morales.

Police did not disclose his address.

According to authorities, the body of an unidentified man was found floating in Glen Cove Creek around 7:35 p.m. The man was removed by Glen Cove Harbor Patrol with assistance from the Nassau County Police Department’s Marine Bureau 9.

Nassau County Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the man's identity and his cause of death, which will be determined by the Nassau County Medical Examiner’s office. The investigation is ongoing. Police did not say whether or not they suspect criminality.
