LIU Post Students Arrested in Campus Drug Bust

Two students at Long Island University Post campus in Brookville were arrested Tuesday at 10 p.m. for allegedly possessing and selling a quantity of MDMA, or Ecstasy, according to the Nassau County Police Department.

Frank Catalano, 20, of Brooklyn, and Ryan Sloane, 20, of Westbury, were observed selling the substance, police said, and were arrested by the department's Asset Forfeiture Unit.

They are being charged with second- and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree criminal possession of marijuana and fifth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, all felonies.

They will be arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on Wednesday.

The school issued the following statement: "The university is aware that two students were arrested last evening. The university is cooperating with local law enforcement and is conducting a full review of the allegations. The university does not comment on private student records."
