Forum on Nassau Redistricting Wednesday in GN

The  Nassau County United Redistricting Coalition is holding a community forum Wednesday at Great Neck House regarding a prosed redistricting map for parts of the Great Neck peninsula.

The Republican-controlled Legislature is poised to vote before March 5 on a revised redistricting map which could affect voting lines in the Great Neck community. A full vote to adopt is expected by county lawmakers in Mineola Feb. 25.

If approved, the Great Neck redistricting plan could move the areas of Kings Point, Saddle Rock and parts of the village of Great Neck from District 10, currently part of the territory of Legis. Judi Bosworth, D-Great Neck, to District 9, which is represented by Republican Legis. Richard Nicolello, the Nassau's deputy presiding officer.

Bosworth and other lawmakers are expected to join in the conversation Wednesday in Great Neck.

The public meeting begins at 7:30 p.m.
