Firefighters Put Out Vehicle Fire On Long Island Expressway

The fire occurred on Saturday night.

Firefighters were quickly able to extinguish a vehicle fire on the Long Island Expressway on Saturday night.

According to fire officials, the SUV that was fully engulfed by flames was located in the westbound lanes, just west of Exit 52 at Commack Road, at 6:25 p.m.

Dix Hills firefighters responded to the scene with heavy rescue pumpers, an ambulance and a paramedic unit. The blaze was quickly put out and no injuries were reported.
