Head-On Crash With Landscaping Truck in Dix Hills Sends 2 to Hospital

The collision occurred Saturday night, fire officials say.

Two people were hospitalized following a head-on collision between a Mercedes-Benz and a landscaping truck in Dix Hills Saturday night.

According to fire officials, the collision occurred on Carlls Straight Path and the South Service Road at about 5:35 p.m. Two occupants inside the Mercedes-Benz sedan were transported to Good Samaritan Hospital by the Dix Hills Rescue Squad to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Two ambulances, a heavy rescue engine, paramedic and first responder units from the Dix Hills Fire Department responded to the scene. All units were under the direction of Company One lieutenant Terence Vierling.
