Harlem-based Holiday Musical Takes the Main Stage at The Apollo Theater

HARLEM, NY — The Apollo Theater presents the Harlem-based holiday musical "The First Noel" as part of the theatre's "Holidays at the Apollo" programming. The Classical Theatre of Harlem's production features original music and reimagined classic carols, and will take over Apollo's main stage from Dec. 10-18.

"The First Noel" is a universal story of love and belonging that follows three generations of a Harlem family affected by tragedy. Viewers can expect lively music ranging from pop to jazz to gospel.

The New York Times said, "The Classical Theater of Harlem’s new Christmas musical, “The First Noel,” means to tug at the heartstrings, and it does — but thanks to the musical performances, not the formulaic story."
