1 Killed, 1 Seriously Hurt in 2-Car Crash in Westbury
The Monday night crash is under investigation, police say.

Police are investigating a two-car crash in Westbury that killed a woman and left a man seriously injured on Monday night.
According to authorities, a 22-year-old man was driving a 2011 BMW sedan northbound on Salisbury Park Drive, near St. Paul's Street, when the vehicle crossed into the southbound lane and collided with a 2013 BMW SUV at 10:35 p.m.

The driver of the SUV, a 51-year-old Westbury resident Maria Duarte, suffered multiple trauma injuries and was transported to an area hospital where she was pronounced dead. The man was extricated from his vehicle and was transported to an area hospital where he is listed in serious condition, police say.
Both vehicles were impounded for brake and safety checks.
