Carnival, Bands Open Fall Festival

Food, carnival rides and many vendors in place as Long Island Fall Festival opens in Huntington for weekend.

The 19th annual Long Island Fall Festival opened Friday night with carnival rides, several vendor booths and a battle of the bands.

Chamber of Commerce leaders and Town Councilwoman Susan Berland welcomed the crowd, expressed hopes for good weather and encouraged everyone to enjoy themselves.

The festival continues Saturday and Sunday, running from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., featuring vendors, contests, music shows, food and the carnival.

On Monday, the festival runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., with the carnival and food courts operating.

If you've got a story to tell, lots of media representatives will be at the Long Island Fall Festival to hear what you have to say.

Patch representatives include ad manager Meryl Kessler, Regional Editor Jason Molinet, Associate Regional Editor Pam Robinson and Northport editor Leah Bush.
