Deli Clerk Arrested in Alcohol Sales

A Huntington Station deli employee was arrested Friday night and charged with selling alcohol to an underage customer.

Luis Lopez, 50, of 152 Wyman Ave., Huntington Station, an employee of Jenny’s Deli at  1044 New York Ave., was charged with unlawfully dealing with a minor after selling alcohol to an underage agent, Suffolk County Police said.

The Second Precinct Crime Section conducted a New York State Liquor Authority check Friday night at several businesses around Huntington. Some businesses were selected based on community complaints, while others were selected at random.

The businesses will also be referred to the State Liquor Authority.

Four other Huntington Station businesses that refused the sale of alcohol to an underage customer were:

      Mishael’s Deli, 1454 New York Ave., Huntington Station

      Compruebe Deli, 1415 New York Ave., Huntington Station

      Chapi Deli, 139 West Hills Rd., Huntington Station

      Los Campos Deli, 161 Depot Rd., Huntington Station

 Lopez was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear at First District Court in Central Islip on April 2.
