Huntington Firefighters Battle Truck Blaze, Rescue Dogs From House Fire
It was a busy Saturday for local firefighters.
Local firefighters had a busy Saturday extinguishing a landscaping truck consumed by flames in Lloyd Harbor and then rescuing three dogs from a Huntington house fire hours later.
Firefighters first responded to a landscaping truck that was fully engulfed in flames on the driveway of a Lloyd Point Drive home at 1:45 p.m. Crews from two engines were able to extinguish the fire. No injuries were reported.
The Huntington Fire Department, Lloyd Harbor Police Department and Town of Huntington Spill Response were on the scene of the truck fire.

About fifty firefighters then responded to the scene of a Clinton Avenue house fire and were able to safely rescue three dogs at 7:58 p.m.
According to fire officials, the flames struck the rear of the house and extended to the attic, the second floor and a detached garage.

Using eight trucks, firefighters had the fire under control within an hour.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation by the Suffolk Police Arson Squad and Huntington Town Fire Marshal.
The Huntington Fire Department battled the house fire with assistance from the Cold Spring Harbor, Huntington Manor and Melville Fire Departments. The Huntington Community First Aid Squad and the Centerport Fire Department provided EMS support and standby coverage, respectively.
Units were under the command of chief Jesse Cukro and operations support of deputy chiefs Rob Conroy, Brian Keane and Scott Dodge.
