Robert Murphy was arrested and charged with a class D felony after he allegedly yelled at an employee at town hall.

Man Arrested for Threatening Town Employee

Suffolk County Police on Saturday arrested a man for making threats over a parking ticket.

According to police, Robert Murphy was at Huntington Town Hall on Main Street on Wednesday when he yelled at and threatened a female town employee.

Following an investigation, a .45-cal. rifle was removed from his home on Hazard Avenue in Huntington Station. Murphy, 55, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for evaluation and released.

Upon release, Second Squad detectives charged Murphy with making a terroristic threat, a class D felony. He will be held overnight at the Second Precinct and is scheduled for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip on Sunday.
