Kings Park Board of Ed to Discuss Central Office Reorganization

Kings Park Board of Education will host a public meeting at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Kings Park High School. Their agenda includes a moment of silence for the late Patricia Clark and several votes about central office administration overhaul.
Tuesday night's meeting is expected to start with a moment of silence for the late Patricia Clark, a science teacher at William T. Rogers Middle School who died on Dec. 20, 2013.
Board trustees are expected to then discuss and votes on the restructuring of district's central administrative offices and its assistant superintendent positions.
In November, Kings Park Central School District announced its intentions to reorganize the central office "[t]o provide more support to our schools in curriculum and instruction."
On Tuesday night, board trustees are expected to vote to abolish Authorization to abolish the position of Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum, Instruction, and Personnel - currently filled by Dr. Ralph Cartisano - and establish the position of Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction.
In addition, the board will be asked to create two new positions: Assistant Superintendent for Personnel & Administrative Services and School Business Administrator. These positions will take the place of the existing positions: Assistant Superintendent for Finance & Administrative Services, and Director for Administrative Services.
