Both the Levittown and Island Trees School District will be open Tuesday for a full school day for all staff and students.
At Island Trees Tuesday, they have cancelled their staff development day in order to run an
"It doesn’t make sense to have the kids out, then in, and then back out again, explained Superintendent Charles Murphy. "If the high school is without power, the students will stay out and the
staff will again work as “departments” and pitch in to help us during
this very difficult time."
Unfortunately, the weather may bring us a Nor’easter later on this week. Murphy hopes to
keep in touch in case the region has further weather related issues.
Tuesday will also be a normal school day for the Levittown School District. On Monday, all schools were open as the remaining buildings without power got it back on Sunday night.
All bus routes are operating normally, the LAMP and LAP programs are open, and lunch is being served as usual. The GC Tech program, however, is closed.
