FedEx Trucks Seen Running Stop Signs in Long Beach: Reports

LONG BEACH, NY - A local man recently took videos of FedEx delivery trucks running through several stop signs in Long Beach, according to multiple reports.

David Cortes, 42, took the videos after he claimed he was almost hit by one of the drivers who was not paying attention, NBC4 reports.

Last Monday, Cortes tried to get the attention of one of the drivers who cut him off by one of the drivers, Newsday reports.

“When I get to the stop sign I’m about to take off, the FedEx truck just almost hit me so I stopped short, beeped at him, waved at him,” he told NBC4. “He didn't acknowledge me.”

He then followed the truck to try to find a phone number for FedEx to report, but the truck blew about six or seven more stop signs, Cortes told Newsday.

FedEx claims they take the situation "very seriously" and plans to investigate the incident, according to Newsday.

“We expect our drivers to obey all traffic laws and safely operate our vehicles,” FedEx said in a statement. “We take this very seriously and will investigate each incident.”
