Long Beach residents are coming together Monday to talk about the future of Long Beach Medical Center.
LBMC officially filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in February after months of suspicion.
With the area’s loss of the nearby medical center, Beach to Bay Central Council of Civic Associations is garnering community attention to maintain a hospital on the island.
The forum is set for Monday at 7 p.m. at Lindell School.
The coalition is also asking residents to sign an online petition to reopen a hospital in Long Beach. They have garnered more than 450 signatures and are trying to get 5,000.
