Police: Ex-Navy SEAL Jumped Bail on Assault, Strangulation Charges

Police say use caution when approaching a bail-jumping Navy SEAL, as he has military training and repeatedly threatened officers.

LONG BEACH, N.Y. -- Long Beach Police announced on Monday that they are seeking an ex-Navy SEAL wanted for assault and strangulation, among other charges.

Nathanael "Lalo" Roberti, 33, was arrested on April 6, 2015 and failed to appear in Nassau County Criminal Court, according to police.

He is charged with second-degree bail jumping, second-degree strangulation, second- and third-degree assault, second-degree unlawful imprisonment, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon and fourth-degree criminal mischief, police said.

Police advise caution when approaching Roberti, as he has military training and repeatedly threatened officers at the time of his arrest, police said.

His address history includes California, New York and Virginia.

Roberti is described as 6-foot-2, 230 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes and a left arm tattoo sleeve, according to police.

In a 2014 blog he wrote for Soldier Systems Daily, Roberti said he was suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Roberti also founded a footwear company, LALO Tactical, which is based in California.
