Photos: Eleven Days after Sandy in Long Beach

The cleanup and reconstruction of Long Beach continued Friday, eleven days after Hurricane Sandy slammed the city Oct. 29. Crews of all kinds, from communications to sewage to power utilities, could be seen working in all corners of town. Red Cross truckers were parked on street corners handing out donations. Industrial trucks were digging out mounds of sand on Oceanview. A water main break was under repair at West Park Avenue at National Boulevard. FEMA representatives were taking photos of damaged properties. And cranes picked up flood-damaged furniture, clothing and appliances that piled up on streets.   These were just some of the scene Patch photographers captured on the city streets Friday morning for this end-of-the-week photo gallery.
