Two people were injured early Friday morning in a two-car collision at the intersection of Sycamore Street and Fairlawn Avenue in West Hempstead.

West Hempstead Volunteer Fire Department firefighters and EMS personnel were called to the scene shortly after 9:30 a.m. Nassau County Police and EMS also responded to the accident.

West Hempstead volunteer firefighters also responded to another two-car crash Thursday morning on Hempstead Turnpike. Fortunately, no one was seriously injured in that accident, but the impact of the collision sent one car onto the sidewalk, where it crashed into the wall and storefront of Something Greek, a local business. Nassau County Police also responded to secure the area.
