Caught: Man Who Stole Leukemia Research Donation Jar Arrested 

A week-long search for a man believed to have  stolen a donation jar from a Lindenhurst 7-Eleven has ended with an arrest. 

Dianne Pine, the manager of the store on N. Greene Avenue and the mother of late 8-year-old Isabella Pine, in whose honor the jar to collect cash for leukemia research was setup, announced the news on her Facebook page late Tuesday night.

Matthew Donadeo, 20, of Lindenhurst, was arrested Tuesday and charged with petty larceny in the theft of the jar, police said.  

Police: Sex Offender Living in Holbrook Failed to Report Change of Address 

A registered sex offender was arrested Wednesday in Holbrook for failing to report a change of residence, police said. 

Robert Cesarski, 43, was arrested at 3:35 a.m. after police executed a search warrant at 336 Hauser Avenue. 

Police: Home Tutor Stole Jewelry

A Ronkonkoma woman working as a home tutor for special needs children was arrested Tuesday in connection with several incidents in which jewelry was stolen from the homes where she was tutoring, police said. 

Police: Bank Robber Caught

A Coram man has been arrested and charged with robbing two banks and attempting to rob four others over the past seven months, police said. 

James Johnson, 44, was arrested in Medford on Wednesday afternoon.

Cops: Aquebogue Woman Altered Check, Charged With Forgery

An Aquebogue woman was cuffed after police said she forged a check and deposited it into her own account.

According to Southampton Town police, last Saturday, detectives arrested Tara O'Malley, 47, after she allegedly altered her employer's check last month and deposited it into her personal bank account.

Cops: Flanders Man Busted After Assault Outside Diner

Two men were arrested Sunday after an assault in the parking lot of the Hampton Bays Diner, police said. 

According to Southampton Town police, two diner employees — a Flanders resident, 32, and an Amityville resident, 23 —  were arrested after police said the two men had assaulted a victim, who sustained injuries.

Police Seeking Three Who Assaulted Man Outside The Emporium

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Hate Crimes Unit detectives are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the people responsible for assaulting a man outside of an entertainment venue in Patchogue. 

"The suspects made verbal remarks about the victim’s perceived sexual orientation," police said regarding why the Hate Crimes Unit was investigating the case. 

Police: Driver Charged With DWI After West Babylon Crash

A Bay Shore man was seriously injured and later charged with DWI following a crash in West Babylon Tuesday night, police said. 

Stephen Kokser, 49, was driving on the southbound ramp of Route 109 from westbound Sunrise Highway when lost control of his 2006 Nissan X-Terra around 8:30 p.m., police said.

Nassau Cop Fires Weapon After Stolen Vehicle Rams Police Car

A Nassau County cop fired his gun at a stolen vehicle Friday night in Farmingdale after the vehicle rammed the officer's car, police said. 

No one was injured in the incident which began after a car was stolen from the parking lot of Lotus Garden Chinese Restaurant, located at 345 Conklin Street, police said. 

Cops Follow Footprints in Snow to Robber's Home

A Massapequa man may have gotten away with his snowstorm robbery if he had remembered to cover his tracks.

Victor Fabian, 21, of Massapequa was charged with robbery after holding up a Dunkin' Donuts and fleeing back to his home, leaving a trail of footprints to his home in the fresh snow, according to Nassau County Police.

Woman Gets Jail Time for Stealing $250K from Boss

An Atlantic Beach woman will spend up to four years in prison  after pleading guilty to embezzling more than $250,000 from her boss over a five year period, reported the Nassau County District Attorney’s office.

Doreen Goucher, 62, of Atlantic Beach, was sentenced to 1.5-4.5 years in prison with a civil judgment of restitution of $258,731, reported the DA.
