Fun for All at Malverne Fall Festival [Photos]

Families, pets, car buffs and shoppers enjoy 2012 fall festival in Malverne.

From classic cars to bouncy castles, pet parades and pumpkin-picking, there was something for everyone to enjoy at this year's Fall Festival in Malverne.

From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., kids, animals and adults were bustling around the village. They hit up Church Street to bounce and slide on the inflatable rides and pick a pumpkin from the patch around the gazebo.

Along the parking lot that runs parallel to Hempstead Avenue and the train tracks, shoppers browsed vendors' tables, treated themselves to some fair food, admired the large collection of classic cars and chatted with local merchants. Here, they also were entertained by the band The Verge and Tap to Pointe dancers, and participated in a Zumba demo.

At noon, a parade of dogs and cats decked out in Halloween costumes made its way through the parking lot and to the gazebo in Reese Park, where prizes were awarded to the top three contestants. The Malverne Volunteer Ambulance Corps' dunk tank was a hit again, as were the pony rides provided by New York Equestrian Center.

Families could then hop on a hayride or take a stroll to Crossroads Farm at Grossmann's, where there was a petting zoo, games, more pumpkin picking, tours of the farm including its new chicken coop, a farmers market, live music and demonstrations of antique farming equipment.
