Flash flooding and severe thunderstorms are expected to batter Nassau County Tuesday.
Weather officials released a flash flood warning that will remain in effect through 9 p.m. Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.
A severe thunderstorm watch is also in effect through 9 p.m. Tuesday and will bring "multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms" as a cold front edges through.
Two to three inches on average are expected throughout the region.
Weather experts cautioned drivers who could be caught in flash floods, which usually impact lower lying areas and roadways.
