If your looking for a holiday outing for the family, or if you're interested in history and local landmarks, there's plenty for you to do in the upcoming weeks.

Here's a look at some of the holiday events going on at local landmark sites:

Old Bethpage Village Restoration  A trip to this historic site located at 1303 Round Swamp Road in Old Bethpage (Exit 48 of the Long Island Expressway) is like a trip back to the  mid-19th century. The Living History Museum recreates homes, farms and businesses from the era and it will be dressed to the nines on Saturday and Sunday for a Candlelight Evening and Holiday Craft show. The buildings on the site will be lit by candlelight. There will be music from local schools, a brass quartet and some old-time fiddle tunes. A tree will be decorated 1866-style and there will be a traditional bonfire with hot apple cider. It runs from 5p.m. to  9:30 p.m. both nights. Entrance fees are: $10 for adults, $7 for children (5-12), seniors and volunteer firefighters.

Garvies Point Museum & Preserve This museum located at 50 Barry Drive in Glen Cove is dedicated to Native American culture and the study of archeology. There exhibits and a collection of artifacts as well as numerous educational programs. One of these programs has a holiday theme as there will be an ornament making workshop on Dec. 22 from noon to 3 p.m. It's for all ages and there is a $3 craft fee in addition to the museum's regular admission.

Oyster Bay Historical Society  The Society holds exhibitions and programs year round at the Earle-Wightman House and Koenig Center.  Currently on display until Jan. 27 is "Little Treasures, "  an exhibit of small every day items in the society's 19th Century and 20th Century items. Included are some holiday-related artifacts.  The Koenig Center is located at 2 Summit Street in Oyster Bay Hours are:  Tuesday - Friday 10 a.m - 2 p.m. Saturday 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. Sunday 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. Closed Monday.

Coe Hall Mansion: The historic mansion on the grounds of Planting Fields Arboretoreum State Historic Park in Oyster Bay will host a Holiday Sing-a-Long and Sing-in at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. on Sunday. The Long Island Masterworks Quartet will perform. The cost is $20 for members $25 for non-members. Call 516-922-8676 for tickets.
