Merrick Poet wins 51st Annual Hofstra Estabrook Award
Roberts was given the Hofstra George M. Estabrook Distinguished Service Award.

Connie Roberts was recently given the Hofstra George M. Estabrook Distinguished Service Award.
Roberts emigrated from Ireland in 1983 and in her mid-thirties received her B.A. (summa cum laude) and M.A. (with high distinction) degrees from Hofstra University in English Literature and Creative Writing.
Roberts is now an adjunt instructor at Hofstra both in the new Irish Studies Program and English Department. She is a talented poet and has won major awards for her poetry endeavers including the Hennessy X.O. Literary, the iYeats Competition Award and recently the Patrick Kavanagh Poetry Award for her book-length manuuscript, Not the Delft School.
