
The New York State Police in conjunction with the Cornwall-on-Hudson Police Department announce the arrest of Jonathan Rizzo, 20, of Cornwall for the charge of Assault in the First Degree, a class B Felony.
Police allege that during the early morning hours of April 6, Rizzo engaged in a physical altercation with a 21-year-old acquaintance. Rizzo repeatedly stabbed the victim in the head and torso.
The assault took place in front of a residence on Idlewild Avenue in the village. The victim was able to walk to the home of another friend on Paula Court where Orange County 911 was contacted, police said.

The injuries to the victim are currently described as non-life threatening and he is being treated at St. Luke’s in Cornwall.
Rizzo was arraigned before Town of Cornwall Court Judge Francis Navarra and sent to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail and was ordered to return on April 12.
