Man Loses Consciousness While On Waverunner, Falls In Bay: Cops
He had a medical emergency and went into cardiac arrest; rescuers pulled him from the Shinnecock Bay, police say.
HAMPTON BAYS, NY — A Bronx man was rescued after he suffered a medical emergency while riding on a Waverunner, went into cardiac arrest, and fell into the Shinnecock Bay, police said.
According to Southampton Town Police, on July 4 at 4:18 p.m., Saif T. Ullah, 40, who was a passenger on the Wavefunner, was pulled from the Shinnecock Bay. Ullah was visiting Hampton Bays with two friends from the Bronx for the holiday, police said; he was the rear passenger on a rented Waverunner being operated by his friend.
During their ride across the bay, Ullah suffered an unidentified medical emergency, lost consciousness and slumped off the Waverunner into the water, police said.

His friend alerted staff members of East End Jet Ski whom rapidly responded to help remove Ullah from the bay; CPR was initiated, police said.
Southampton Town police patrol officers, members of the community response unit, detectives, bay constables, as well as the Hampton Bays Volunteer Ambulance Corps and the Southampton town lifeguard beach rescue unit all responded to the area near East End Jet Ski in Hampton Bays to help, police said.

Ullah was found onshore with CPR in progress, police said.
Ullah was transported to a local hospital by the Hampton Bays Volunteer Ambulance Corps, police said.
