Here's what's going on around town.

NYSC of Nanuet would like to invite you to their club as our VIP guest for the day! Come experience a great workout using our vast selection of strength & cardio equipment, challenging group exercise classes & exclusive fitness demos at our Open House! (Guests must be at least 14 years of age, provide ID & fill out a registration card at the front desk).

The Clarkstown Town Board holds its workshop meetings at 7:30 p.m. in Room 301 of town hall on Tuesday.  Police Department reports are given at workshop meetings. 

Go watch a baseball game and help out Jawonio. This event was rescheduled from July 26 because of the weather. Tickets can still be purchased. This event supports of Adult Employment and Day Services for People with Disabilities and Special Needs at Jawonio. Jawonio is the recipient of the 2nd Annual Active International Charity Challenge game, at Jawonio Night at Provident Bank Park.

The game is Tuesday, July 31 at 7 p.m. First 1000 fans get free Jawonio rally towels from "Ramapo Collison" and first 500 get free t-shirts

RCADD Recovery Services and Lift Wellness presents "Healing Addiction Through Improved Nutrition" Come for food samples, meal plan samples and easy recipes. Pre-Registration is required by calling 845-215-9788 ext. 25. 

This program is at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug 2 at the offices

Mahwah Regional, Montvale, Nyack and Pearl River Chambers of Commerce present "Networking Picnic & Baseball Game" as the Rockland Boulders vs. Newark Bears on Thursday evening, August 2. Price is $22/Chamber members and $27/non-members. Price includes reserved seat ticket to the game, unlimited buffet at the Bridge Bar 6:30-8:30 p.m., including hot dogs, hamburgers, baked beans, coke products and water.

The first general public meeting to discuss Rebuild Hi-Tor is 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 2 at The Hi Tor Animal Care Center is Rockland County’s only animal shelter, but is at risk of shutting down due to its lack of county funding and its poor facility conditions. Several members of the public teamed up with Hi-Tor to form a plan to save the shelter.

Come out and learn about how you can help with the rebuilding effort, whether it's donating or buying a brick paver or volunteering and joining a committee

Times are tough and unemployment is unfortunately a familiar face to many Rocklanders. However, Rockland Job Network is a group dedicated to the to the support, assistance and encouragement of fellow job seekers in Rockland County and the surrounding areas.
