Slaying took place just outside a children's birthday party, according to media reports.

16-Year-Old Arrested in Connection with Hillcrest Murder

A 16-year-old Orange County resident has been arrested and charged with the murder of a Hillcrest man outside of a six-year-old's house party last June.

Josiah Williams, a teen from New Windsor, is accused of killing 22-year-old Riccardo Barrett on June 9 at 5 Hickory Street by stabbing with a knife, police said. The slaying occurred outside of a youngster's birthday bash, according to reports by ABC.

Williams was arrested Monday afternoon in Hillcrest by Ramapo police, authorities said, with the help of the United States Marshal's Service.

Williams faces murder in the second degree, a felony. He is currently at Rockland County Correctional Facility.

Future court dates will be set by the Rockland County District Attorney’s Office, authorities said.
