New Hyde Park Museum Requesting Artifacts and Photos

The New Hyde Park Village Museum is hosting a series of Monday collection drives during March for artifacts to display in the new pace on the second floor of village hall.

The museum is requesting that residents bring in photos or items that they believe would be appropriate for the museum to show.

Collections chairpersons Barbara Teepe and June Nagy along with village historian Carol Nowakowski will be preparing to accept donations on March 11, 18 and 25 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. or on March 26 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and after their meeting from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

If residents do not wish to part with the photographs, a scanning machine will be available for the museum to make a copy of the photograph for digital display.

Membership committee chairpersons Ginny Manganaro and Joan Natalie will be contacting groups regarding interview of long-time residents, which will be conducted by Neil Brogan and Christine Dichristina.

Membership signups are also available on the museum website.
