While recovering the vehicle from the water, police divers found a second person in the SUV.

The second person was a woman, the Journal News reported.

The discovery of the second person's body during the initial recovery was hampered by the lack of visibility in the water of Echo Bay and where in the vehicle the body was located, police said.

The victims have not been identified pending family notification.

Police said that anyone with information about the accident is urged to contact the New Rochelle Police Department’s Traffic Unit at 914-654-2220.
