Video: New Rochelle Police Officer Seen Holding Young Men at Gunpoint

A video purportedly showing a New Rochelle police officer holding some young men at gunpoint is drawing scrutiny, and authorities are disputing the initial claims of the incident.

Initial reports were that some teens were having a snow ball fight when the officer drew his gun, but police said they responded to the scene following a 911 call about an armed subject. View the video below, or click here to watch it on YouTube; the video contains some graphic language.

“There was no snowball fight,” Deputy Commissioner Tony Murphy told The Journal News.

No injuries were reported, and no arrests were made. The incident occurred Friday.

“We dispatched several cars to the area. Police officers got out of their cars and one of the individuals bent down, adjusted something in his waistband and ran,” Murphy told the Daily News. Police said the initial call said one person may have a gun in their waistband.

The alleged suspect who was believed to have a weapon was not found.
