Search On For Hit and Run Driver Who Struck Elderly Woman in Greenport: Police

BREAKING: The driver struck the woman on Front Street and fled the scene, police said.

GREENPORT, NY — Police are searching for a hit and run driver who struck an elderly woman on Front Street in Greenport Friday and fled the scene, authorities said.

According to Southold Town Police, the vehicle was heading east at 7:27 p.m. when the female pedestrian, who was crossing Front Street in a marked crosswalk, was hit.

The woman was transported to Eastern Long Island Hospital by Greenport Fire Department with non-life threatening injuries, police said.
