Renovation work has been going on at the Peconic busines formerly known as the .
Anthony Nappa, the current winemaker for in Mattituck, is leasing the space but said he’s not quite ready to reveal details on what’s to come.
“We have leased the space and plan on a tasting room,” he said on Friday. “I make wine under my own brand as well as for Shinn Estate Vineyards.”
Nappa is also waiting for a liquor license from the state.
“We’re obviously renovating and trying to get our ducks in a row,” he said.
The building at 2885 Peconic Lane, formerly known as the Tasting Room, has been , an Aquebogue vintner, who also owns and in Aquebogue, had owned the business since 2006.
Established in 2003, the Tasting Room was devoted to selling and providing samples of wines from smaller local vintners who don't have tasting rooms of their own, such as Schneider Vineyards, Brooklyn Oenology, Bouke, Gramercy, Onabay, Medolla Vineyards and Dilworth’s own, Le Clos.
