EAST NORTHPORT, NY — A garbage truck went up in flames in the parking lot of East Northport Public Library on Tuesday morning, the fire department said.

Firefighters got the call just after 5 a.m. They worked for several hours under the command of Chief Steven Macedonio to extinguish the Winters Bros. truck.

One firefighter was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries and later released. There were no other injuries.
