Police Log: Gas Station Fire, Found Bearded Dragon
Excerpts from the Northport Police Department log.
Monday, April 18
At 2:55 p.m., police came to the aid of a man who was trapped inside the bathroom with injuries from a fall on Main Street. Officers gained entry into the bathroom and started rescue breathing until Northport Rescue responded to the scene and transported him to Huntington Hospital.

At 5:23 p.m., police received a report of a found bearded dragon on Oxford Street. The reptile was transported to North Shore Veterinary Hospital when its owner could not be located.
At 8:15 p.m., police responded to Integrity Mobil gas station on Fort Salonga Road for a report of an electrical fire in the gas pump. Eatons Neck Fire Department responded to the scene and extinguished the fire.

At 10 p.m., police received a report of a man possibly breaking into a downstairs apartment on Fort Salonga Road. Officers responded to the scene and spoke to the man, who told officers his girlfriend lives there. The landlord told officers he did not want the man in the apartment because he was not on the lease agreement. The man agreed to leave for the evening without incident.
Wednesday, April 20
At 3:45 p.m., a man responded to headquarters to fill out a larceny affidavit for a lost Ruger .380 pistol. The man told police he believes the gun was accidentally thrown in the garbage while moving out of his house on Reservoir Avenue.
