Rock ‘n’ Roll Returns to the Vanderbilt Planetarium

Stunning New Classic, Alternative Shows

Premier September 6-7

The Suffolk County Vanderbilt Planetarium will rock again! On Friday and Saturday, September 6 and 7, the Planetarium will premier two new, breathtaking, full-dome, rock music shows – classic and alternative – on the 60-foot dome of the newly renovated and technologically updated William and Mollie Rogers Theater.

David Bush, the Planetarium’s technical and production coordinator, said “The shows have a variety of artists, and each song has an original sequence of mind-blowing visual sequences as well as planetarium special effects.”

The Full-Dome Alternative Rock Show will be offered Friday nights at 9:00. Some of the bands include Nine Inch Nails, Beck, 311, Daft Punk, Radiohead, Muse and Smashing Pumpkins.

The Full-Dome Classic Rock Show is on Saturday nights at 9:00. Among those on the lineup are Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, U2, Aerosmith, Jimi Hendrix, The Rolling Stones and The Doors.
