NAACP Meeting Puts Focus on Impact of Small Businesses on Economy

The chairman of Rockland SCORE is set to offer his perspective on the impact of small businesses on the economy when he speaks Wednesday evening at the Nyack NAACP's monthly meeting at the Nyack Center.

Mark Rothenberg, a former Vice-President with United Water New York, is the featured speaker at the 7 p.m. event, which is free and open to the public. The NAACP has its executive officers meeting at 8 p.m.

In addition to talking about economic development and the importance of small business to economic vitality in the community, Rothenberg says he'll be speaking about the role of SCORE in helping existing and emerging entrepenuers.

Rockland SCORE is part of a national association which is all volunteer, non-profit, and a resource partner with the U.S. Department of Commerce and the Small Business Administration. SCORE has more than 350 Chapters across the U.S.  with more than 10,000 volunteers.

Rockland SCORE, located in Spring Valley, is staffed with volunteers from a variety of business backgrounds, who are dedicated to assisting clients start their own business or helping solve problems for those already in business.
