(Original story)

The students of the nationally-acclaimed Nyack High School Drama Club perform one of William Shakespeare’s most popular light-hearted comedies on Nov. 9 and 10 (now Nov. 15 and 16 because of Hurricane Sandy) with their production of “Twelfth Night.”

The show, led by acclaimed director and set designer Joseph J. Egan, takes place in the auditorium of Nyack High School, which is transformed into Shakespeare’s Illyria.

The humorous story of "Twelfth Night" launches from the plight of a brother and sister — Sebastian (Lucas Ruderman) and Viola (Sydney Aherne) — who become separated in a shipwreck. Shakespeare's play becomes a tale of gender confusion, as a girl disguises herself as a man to be near the count she adores, only to be pursued by the woman he loves.
