The new signs are part of the Greater Ossining Chamber of Commerce's Shop Local Banner Program.

You may notice some new banners along Ossining's North State Road. The signs are part of the Greater Ossining Chamber of Commerce's Shop Local Banner Program. The initiative is being spearheaded in conjunction with the Town of Ossining.

The new banners are going up this week on telephone poles along the North State Road business corridor. President Gayle Marchica says the project has been two years in the making.

“The Banner Program is another phase of our shop local program and we encourage all to think local first when buying goods and searching for specific services," said Marchica. "When we shop local everyone wins.”

The new banners will extend from Chappaqua Road to the Town of Ossining border. In addition to the "Shop Local" logos, the banners display local businesses' contact information.

"This program really puts an emphasis on our new shop local program and creates a vibe of community spirit and highlights the great area businesses," said Ossining Chamber Public Relations Director Omar Herrera.

The new banners are coming about two months after a new wooden sign, designed to direct traffic to the North State Road business district, was installed at the corner of Chappaqua and North State Road.

Ossining's Hudson Signs is installing the North State Road banners. The Greater Ossining Chamber of Commerce says that all of the banners should be up by Friday.
