4 Boats Catch Fire In East Patchogue
A man sleeping in a boat escaped the flames Tuesday night, police say.

EAST PATCHOGUE, NY – The Suffolk County Police Arson Squad is investigating after four boats caught fire in East Patchogue late Tuesday night.
According to police, a man was sleeping in a boat docked on the Swan River off Conklin Avenue when it went up in flames 11:19 p.m. The man, who police did not name, escaped.
Three nearby boats also caught fire. The original boat and one other were completely destroyed. The two other boats sustained minor damage, police said.

The Patchogue Fire Department put out the blaze. There were no injuries reported.
