Dignified Disposal of Unserviceable Flags Saturday

A Ceremony for the Dignified Disposal of Unserviceable Flags is taking place on Saturday at Shorefront Park in Patchogue Village from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

The ceremony is being presided by Commander John Matuszak of American Legion Post 269, Commander George Barret of VFW Post 2913 and Commander John Morge of American Veterans Post 111. Prayers are being offered by Michael Amodio, the Post 2913 Chaplain and local Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts will help with the ceremony.

Those with flags that need to be disposed of can drop them off at the box in front of American Legion Post 269 on Baker Street next to Patchogue Village Hall. The ceremony is open to the public.
