Firefighters Battle Patchogue Blaze Made Worse By High Winds

The fire started at a local body shop and spread to multiple cars due to the high winds Saturday morning.

PATCHOGUE, NY - Firefighters from multiple departments battled a large blaze made worse by the high winds in Patchogue early Saturday.

The North Patchogue Fire Department responded to a mutual aid for a fire at Tigre Auto repair on 355 East Main Street at about 4:43 a.m.

The fire had spread from the building to a few nearby cars due to the high winds.

"If it wasn't for the issues with the wind it probably would have been just been contained to a small house fire with minimal damage," a spokesperson for the North Patchogue Fire Department told Patch.

Thankfully, no injuries were reported.

In addition to the North Patchogue Fire Department, the Medford, Hagerman, Blue Point and Holbrook Fire Departments responded to assist.
