The Long Island Latino Teachers Association in collaboration with Suffolk County Community College (SCCC) held the conference "Women Leaders Paving Paths for Young Women" on Friday, Oct. 26 at SCCC Grant Campus in Brentwood.

Patchogue-Medford High School students attended workshops on a variety of career paths including education, social work, medicine/health, science/technology, law, politics, arts, journalism and business. The goal was to have these young women become empowered, inspired and motivated  - through knowledge and role models -  while being encouraged to pursue higher education after high school.
