The Long Island Connection 3, which will run from February 17 through February 27, features a diverse group of artists who represent not only various cultural and philosophical backgrounds, but also various disciplines of art-making. Here, one will find painting and printmaking alongside sculpture and photography, as well as representational pieces alongside the abstract and nonobjective. Together, the works address a variety of themes including socio-political commentary, examinations of human psychology, and pure explorations of aesthetic composition. In light of such diversity, the common denominator is the extraordinary way in which these pieces and their artists have been brought together from all walks of life and all corners of the world to find connection at Long Island.
LIU Post is a branch of Long Island University, and is featured in this exhibition as part of an exchange program with the resident artists at Patchogue Artspace.
